| Q: What is the difference between pairing speakers as "Master" and "Slave"? A: Master Group Speakers Use this option when you want centralized control of the whole system. All Master Group speakers receive the same audio from the wireless main unit. Master Group speakers are controlled directly by the wireless main unit. Main unit volume is applied to all Master Group speakers. Adjusting the volume on any speaker in the Master Group will affect the volume equally on all others in the Master group. Powering ON or OFF the main unit will power ON or OFF all speakers in the Master Group. Powering ON or OFF any speaker works in two ways: -Short press – only the left and right speaker in the pair are powered ON or OFF. Wireless main unit and from every other pair in the Master Group are unaffected. -Long press – speaker pair, main unit and every other pair in Master Group power ON or OFF together. Slave Group Speakers Use this option when you want individual control of speaker pairs, usually on a room-by-room basis. For example, speakers placed in a bedroom could use this setting so that volume and power changes on the main unit do not unintentionally wake someone. All Slave Group speakers receive the same audio from the wireless main unit. Slave Group speakers are controlled independently from the main unit and from each other. Each pair of Slave Group Speakers has its own volume control, independent of the main unit and any other pairs in the Slave group. Adjusting the volume on any speaker in the Slave Group will affect the volume only on the other speaker in its pair, that is L + R speakers always act together. All other speakers and wireless main unit will be unaffected. Powering ON or OFF any one speaker works in two ways: - Short press – only the left and right speaker in the pair are powered ON or OFF. Wireless main unit and from every other speaker pair are unaffected. -Long press – speaker pair, main unit and other speakers all power ON or OFF together. |

| Q: Is the iSymphony wireless system compatible with my iPhone? The W2 supports music playback and charging of iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. When docking the iPhone into the wireless system you will receive a message similar to the below (depending on your iPhone model), asking you if you would like to turn on Airplane mode to reduce interference. For the best possible audio experience we recommend choosing "Yes" but users should realize that selecting "Yes" will disable the phone features of the iPhone, turning it into a media player only. If you would like to keep the phone features active, select "No". Users should realize that by selecting this option they may notice audible interference when incoming calls or text messages are received or about to be received. This is not a malfunction of the product. ![]() |

| Q: What technology does the iSymphony wireless system use to transmit audio? Will it interfere with my Wi-Fi network, cordless phone etc? A: The iSymphony W2 Audio System with Wireless Speakers uses state-of-the-art wireless transceiver technology operating in the 2.4GHz frequency band. This same frequency band is used for wireless LANs, microwave ovens and some cordless phones. This technology is designed to co-exist with other users of the same frequency band and will not cause harmful interference when installed and operated correctly. |

| Q: Can you give me any advice about setting up my iSymphony wireless system? What is the best location for the main unit and the speakers? A: Setting up a wireless audio system allows you much more flexibility than with conventional wired speakers. Wireless speakers may be placed anywhere within the room, or in another room within 100 feet of the wireless main unit. Since there is no physical connection between the system components, you can be creative with your system layout. iSymphony wireless systems are also wall-mountable for additional flexibility. Because this system uses wireless technology to transmit audio there are few things you should understand about wireless systems that will help you get the best performance from your iSymphony Wireless. To avoid interference, maintain the following distances between system components (wireless main unit and wireless speakers) and other electronic devices that use the same radio frequency (2.4 GHz band). ![]() Do not place the wireless main unit or speakers in a metal cabinet or bookshelf. Depending on your wall thickness and material, the operating range may be reduced. |
|||
| Q: What is the operating range of the iSymphony wireless system? How far from the main unit can I place my speakers? A: Typical operating range in a residential or office environment is approximately 100ft. As with all wireless devices, the iSymphony wireless system's operating range may vary depending upon building construction, building materials, atmospheric conditions and sources of interference. The presence of substantial amounts of metal and concrete in a building's structure may reduce operating range. |

| Q: Why do I occasionally see a red light flash on the front of the speaker accompanied by a brief interruption in the audio? A: The wireless audio system will automatically seek a clear channel if any other wireless devices interfere with its communication. When this happens, the red "Link" indicator flashes on the speakers and there is a brief interruption in the audio coming from the speakers. This is the normal operation of the product working to assure the best possible performance of your wireless audio system. If the interference persists, try moving the other devices to another location, or move the wireless main unit or wireless speakers farther from the interfering devices. |
|||
| Q: Why is there no sound coming from my speakers accompanied by a flashing red light inside the speakers? A1: The speakers may have become unpaired and need to be paired again, or may not have been paired correctly. Unplug the unit for 1 minute and then follow the instructions for re-pairing the unit on page 31 of the owner's manual. A2: The speakers might be too far from the main. Please make sure the speakers are within the 100 foot range of the main unit. Please remember that a large number of walls or windows, especially concrete or containing a large amount of metal will reduce the operating range of the system. |
|||
| Q: Why is there sound coming from my speakers distorted? What can I do to fix it? A: The iSymphony wireless system is designed to deliver clear audio within its operating range if set up correctly. There are several possible causes for audio distortion. If your wireless system is operating in the presence of several strong Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth devices or cordless phone systems, the interference generated by these devices may be heard as distortion. You should disable these interfering devices or increase the separation between the system components (main unit and speakers) and the interfering devices. You can find more information about selecting the best location for your system on page 8 of you user manual. Other possible causes for distortion include the presence of concrete or brick walls in the transmission path and/or the presence steel framing/reinforcing in the vicinity. Double-paned windows, especially those in aluminum frames can also significantly cut transmission range. Moving the speakers closer to the main unit or allowing a more direct path between the main unit and speakers will usually solve the problem. |

We recommend using a fixed or tilt-only mount. The wireless speakers are compatible with satellite speaker or small bookshelf speaker wall mounts. Both the main unit and speakers attach to the mounts using M4 (metric) bolts. Wall mounting hardware is not included and may be purchased from many retailers specializing in audio and video equipment. |
